Silico Manganese

1.Introduction
Silico manganese is an alloy of ferro manganese that contains a sufficient amount of silicon. Ferro manganese itself is an alloy of manganese and iron, which also contains small amounts of other elements such as carbon, silicon, and phosphorus. The main grades of ferro manganese are categorized based on their carbon content, which includes high carbon, medium carbon, and low carbon ferro manganese. When ferro manganese contains a sufficient amount of silicon, it is referred to as silico manganese.

2.Applications
Silico manganese is an essential composite deoxidizer and alloying agent in the steel industry. Silico manganese with a carbon content below 1.9% is also used for producing medium and low carbon ferro manganese and as a semi-finished product in the production of metallic manganese through the electric silicon thermal process.
